چکیده
The general expectation of the pearl millet farmers is mainly focused on level superiority newly released hybrids than local standard hybrids, which grown widely. Hence, check RHB-173, RHB-177 and MPMH-17 were used as hybrid. hybrid namely RMS-7 × RIB-3135-18 expressed highest significant heterotic value for grain yield per plant fourassociated traits out nine studied including dry fodder plot also showed positive heterosis. Similarly, another RIB-16296 heterosis plot. cross combination, viz. ICMA-00444 RIB-16S/110, ICMA-00111 RIB-494, RIB-16328 good other traits. At end, among 100 studied, one hybrid, was selected best since, it high over many dryfodder may have potential to replace old cultivar in future.

Correlation Studies for Grain Yield Components and Nutritional Quality Traits in Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) Germplasm
Before selecting genotypes for nutritional quality characters (protein, oil and micronutrients content) and anti-nutritional factor (phytic acid), it is important to know how much selection is likely to affect yield. Using a diverse range of genotypes, relationships between quality traits with yield and yield attributes in pearl millet were investigated. The number of productive tillers, panicl...
متن کاملAssociation Analysis of SSR Markers with Phenology, Grain, and Stover-Yield Related Traits in Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.)
Pearl millet is a staple food crop for millions of people living in the arid and semi-arid tropics. Molecular markers have been used to identify genomic regions linked to traits of interest by conventional QTL mapping and association analysis. Phenotypic recurrent selection is known to increase frequencies of favorable alleles and decrease those unfavorable for the traits under selection. This ...
متن کاملAssessment of genetic diversity in accessions of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) and napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum) using microsatellite (ISSR) markers
Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) and napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) are the most economically important species in the genus Pennisetum. Knowledge of genetic diversity of these two species would enhance their potentials for utilization. The present work assessed the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationship among Nigerian and Indian accessions of pearl millet an...

Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) is an important cereal in semi-arid tropics in Africa and India. Conventionally, millet has good amounts of grain minerals compared to other cereals. Estimation of genetic parameters would be useful in developing appropriate breeding and selection strategies. The present study was conducted to evaluate the local pearl millet accessions to assess the...
متن کاملGrain iron and zinc density in pearl millet: combining ability, heterosis and association with grain yield and grain size
Genetics of micronutrients and their relationships with grain yield and other traits have a direct bearing on devising effective strategies for breeding biofortified crop cultivars. A line × tester study of 196 hybrids and their 28 parental lines of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R.Br.) showed large genetic variability for Fe and Zn densities with predominantly additive gene action and n...
